  • Ifigenia inmóvil (Cuba)

Synopsis

Clitemnestra, a single mother trapped in a social reality that overwhelms her, anxiously awaits the man who was her husband, Agamenón, and the father of her motionless daughter Ifigenia. An unexpected visit from a young man on the run from the police changes her daily life, exacerbating her fears and passions.

Brief history of the group

Teatro Pinos Nuevos is a company that was founded on December 8, 1977, on Isla de la Juventud (Cuba) with the aim of developing a youth theatre movement that would satisfy the needs and demands of this audience, creating its own plays that would leave its mark on the country’s dramatic tradition. Years later, the collective took on another poetic endeavour, using more open playwriting within a universal context in which gestural language, space and words essentially define the aesthetic and stylistic essence of the collective.

  • Un cadàver actuant (Girona)

Synopsis

After a war, the world is never the same again. There are all kinds of changes, from the most obvious, such as the model of government, to the smallest, in mindset, regarding certain issues. One of these issues has always been art. Function, perception and objectives have changed (and continue to change) over the years, and have often been repressed. This repression is the experience of Jaume Gavilán, who seeks to successfully organise small clandestine performances in order to bring art to all those who have not yet given up on it.

Brief history of the group

The Theatrum Mundi company was founded in 2018 by Martí Rodríguez and Àlex Castro. The group was set up to perform their first play, Les santes nits [Holy nights], with the aim of raising awareness of current and future problems, and since then this has been the focus of their shows: to unconditionally criticise and denounce social issues. The entity is set up in such a way that its members, in addition to developing collective projects, can also carry out their individual projects with the support of the company. Un cadàver actuant [An acting corpse] is the company’s third project, and the second created by the Rodríguez-Castro team.

  • Nopoleó (Girona)

Synopsis

When her personal and professional lives get mixed up while presenting her thesis, a historian must decide which is easier: convincing the panel that Napoleon Bonaparte never existed or organising a wedding?

Brief history of the group

Mar Caulas presents her first project with the aim of presenting relaxed comic theatre, while at the same time conveying history to the general public.
