Árbol is a dance production: a journey through the body and its silence, a political and poetic piece that questions how we relate to nature.
By highlighting the body’s roots as the source of life, it challenges environmental destruction as humanity’s greatest conflict.
The piece is developed through a choreography that uses a diversity of body languages, including butoh, contemporary dance, martial arts and physical theatre. The staging is polished and minimalist, with a dancer and a cellist in the stage space, aided by a high level of attention to detail. Lighting, visual elements and live music complement the experience, creating a unique, poetic atmosphere that transports the audience to a shifting landscape.
This piece stars the actor and dancer Álvaro Pizarro, with original music by composer Jorge Aliaga and cello performance by Isidora O’Ryan.

Árbol

In 2018, the Árbol Danza company was created by a multidisciplinary team, which gave rise to the play Árbol.
This creation has been performed at important festivals such as Fibutoh: International Festival of Butoh, Chile (2018 and 2023), the International Festival Santiago a Mil (2020), Mexico City International Festival of Contemporary Dance (2020), the Santiago Off International Festival (2021), the Alma Negra International Festival (Costa Rica, 2022), FITICH (2024) and, recently, as part of the international cycle Abril en Dansa (2025), among others. In 2019, Árbol received recognition from the European Union in Chile for its impact within the Re-act for the Climate program.
At the same time, he has developed “Cuerpo orgánico”, a workshop that investigates movement from a relationship/exploration perspective. It has been taught at festivals, cultural centres and training spaces in Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain and Germany, therefore establishing a pedagogical approach that complements Árbol’s stage experience.
