In June 1938, Maria and Pep, two young people from Bellver de Cerdanya, get married and celebrate with Mateu and other friends. The two young people, republicans and unionists, have not married in the Church and this worries Esperança, Maria’s sister. In the town, especially after the fall of the nearest cities in early 1939, the atmosphere gets increasingly tense. Antònia, Maria’s friend and the wife of Enric, who is a convinced Falangist, has begun to avoid Maria. In the winter of 1939, as the radio broadcast news about the coup plotters’ advance into the lands of La Cerdanya, Maria, Pep, Mateu and other young republicans try to defend the City Hall and the town.

The Teatre Jove Bellver company was created in early summer 2016, when a group of friends aged between 12 and 14, after several years of writing their own stories and recording them with the few resources they had, enthusiastically set out to prepare their first theatrical project.
After eight years, they have worked on a great variety of theatrical productions. From its first production, Ens ha caigut la sogra by Lluís Coquard, to L’obra que no existeix. It was followed by Dos cavallers de Verona (‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’) by William Shakespeare, Rumors and Bojos del bisturí (‘Rumours’ and ‘It runs in the family’) by Neil Simon, Una maleta, dues maletes, tres maletes by Claude Magnier, Krampack by Jordi Sánchez, Absolutament (des)connectats by Paolo Genovese, Danys col·laterals by Marc Crehuet and Boeing Boeing by Marc Camoletti. These are the projects that the group has carried out throughout our territory during these nine exceptional years of its history.
In 2022, after much reflection, they decided to start a new project: to create a second generation with boys and girls between 13 and 16 years old, to make this association grow and last forever.
