What can a couple do when their relationship is in crisis? He proposes an alternative: an open couple. She wants to die…, but she accepts it in order to save her marriage. For him, everything is fine and he no longer has to hide his love affairs, until one day she overcomes her depression, finds a job and… a man!, who courts her and understands her. In accordance with the open couple principles proposed by her husband, she confesses her relationship to him and—oh, surprise!—that is where the conflict begins.

Open Couple describes an unfinished process. Its protagonists do not manage to conclude a liberated couple —not even on the path to liberation—, and it is in this experimental phase that the best moments of the comedy emerge.

Dramatic Section of the Catholic Centre of Olot

The Dramatic Section of the Catholic Centre of Olot was created in 1959 and remained active until 1998. The current group took over management in 2018, with the staging of Els Pastorets d’Olot, written in 1880 by members of the organization, and during this period they performed rehearsed readings such as A Christmas Carol or Testament. In 2020, once the current theatrical project was consolidated, they premiered the play El crèdit; in 2023, The Zoo Story and Red Pontiac; in 2024, Carnival, Fàbrica de núvies, and Shock Therapy!, and finally, in 2025 they performed Open Couple. They have actively participated in the theatre campaign organized by the Provincial Council of Girona and in various theatre festivals and competitions, where their work has been recognized with several awards. They are currently working on two new plays which they hope to take on tour during 2026.
